What will you know?
We will escape the noise and pollution of the city to recharge our batteries and learn about an admirable conservation story. Just one hour from Bogotá, you will discover the Bosques de Macanal Nature Reserve , a 240-hectare  cloud forest

. For more than 50 years , architect Fernando Cortés has dedicated his life to restoring an old farm, creating a cloud forest that is now home to 250 sloths, squirrels and more than 187 species of birds. The reserve has become one of the few relics of conservation in the region, along with Chicaque and Pedro Palo.

This project is a pilot model of ecology and landscaping that, thanks to the work of an interdisciplinary team and its studies on soil resources, topography, fog, reforestation and planting, has managed to conserve 70% of its area and produce water for the region.

Recognized as an AICA territory (Area of Importance for the Conservation of Birds) by BirdLife International, the Bosques de Macanal Natural Reserve is a sanctuary of global interest in ornithology.

Join us for an unforgettable experience where you will learn about the conservation and biodiversity of the high Andean forest.

"A wonderful opportunity to disconnect and breathe fresh air. Beautiful trails, direct connection with nature just a short distance from the chaos of Bogotá."
"This natural reserve is a hidden gem on the Bogotá - La Mesa highway, similar to the Chicaque National Park but less popular, which makes your visit more special since you can enjoy the reserve practically without other visitors. It is also a conservation space for sloths, which can be seen on the ecological trails. On clear days you can see the snow-capped mountains and volcanoes of the coffee belt, Huila and Tolima. Suitable for anyone who wants to enjoy the fresh air and the cloud forest." 🦋😬🎉
"It is a place near Bogotá, a beautiful cloud forest with oak trees that are more than 100 years old and with guides who show this reserve like a poetic story. Recommended."
